“The description does not disclose that you will spend 9 HOURS in a bumpy car driving to/from the excursions and pickup/dropoffs at hotels in Playa Del Carmen. We asked if we could be dropped off first in Cancun — which is DOZENS of miles closer to Colorados/Rio Lagartos — before the Carmen passengers because we had a rehearsal dinner to attend for our friends wedding. The staff refused. (We were also picked up first at 6am so the least they could do, out of fairness, was honor this request).”

“The day was wonderful! Fermin arrived right on time at my hotel. He drove a very comfortable, clean van. He was prepared for the heat with cold towels and water. He offered me my choice of routes. The slower scenic way vs the toll road. He told interesting stories about the countryside and the villages we passed through. We met up with his friend in Rio Lagartos who had his boat ready to go. We had a lovely boat ride out to the salt pans passing by alligators, egrets, black hawks, pelicans and two roseate spoonbills. “The operator has an age limit 60 yrs for the snorkeling event - this was not communicated until we were already on board and we were denied the opportunity to snorkel. Other tours that we considered clearly state the operators age policy in the listing. Viator did not support us in our claim. The folks who did snorkel complained that it the time was short - 20 min. The beach at their private beach club and water activities were not good compared to other beach clubs that we have visited. However the food drinks and service were great.”

It wasn’t always easy to find the birds but Carlos gave us pictures and descriptions of the birds afterwards and I was amazed how many birds we actually spotted including a pygmy owl. Also saw Toucans and an unusual cuckoo bird. Very productive experience.”
